Application Steps  [hide this]

The Xeriscape Incentive Program (XIP) for HOA and Commercial properties promotes projects that convert high-water use landscapes to regionally adapted water-wise landscapes. If awarded, customers can receive up to $15,000 per project. A limited number of grants will be awarded and, at this time, Water Conservation cannot guarantee the program will be offered in 2020. The final program application is due by Dec. 31!  After Dec. 16, pre-applications will no longer be accepted.  Pre-applications will be reviewed one week after submission.  Awards will be announced in February 2020 via email. If selected for XIP funding, project must be substantially completed with final inspection scheduled by Oct 15, 2020. Final progress report, an establishment plan and a long-term maintenance plan must be submitted by Dec 31, 2020. Distribution of grant funds to awardees will require awardees to submit invoices documenting project expenses. Water Conservation will hold 25% of funding until the awardee submits final project completion report. Visit fcgov.com/xipXL for a comprehensive summary of the grant and evaluation criteria. ****This program has been made possible due to funding from the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB). Utilities is looking for case studies that can be shared with CWCB and act as regional demonstration projects. Utilities is particularly interested in partnering on high-water use turf to native/regionally adapted grass conversion projects. If selected, projects will receive additional bonus funding. This bonus funding does not have to be matched. If interested please indicate so on your pre-application or application or contact us at xipXL@fcgov.com or 970-416-4306. Steps to complete application: 1) Complete the Applicant Information page. 2) Complete and submit the pre-application. The last date to submit a pre-application is Dec. 16; however, if your pre-application is submitted on Dec 16, and approved, there will only be ONE WEEK to submit a full application before the deadline closes. Staff encourages you to complete the pre-application as soon as you can. 3) Your pre-application will be reviewed within approximately one week of submittal. 4) If the pre-application is approved, you will be notified via email and the application will be made available in ZoomGrants. If your pre-application is not approved, Water Conservation will contact you to discuss other possible programs that could support your project. 5) Complete the application. 6) Upload all required documents to the documents page. 7) Submit your application and documents by Dec. 31, 2019. 8) Awards will be announced in February 2020 via email. If your application is not selected, staff will contact you to discuss other applicable programs or steps. There are a limited number of awards and, at this time, Water Conservation cannot guarantee this program will be offered again in 2020.
