INTRODUCTION: The King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is pleased to release this Request for Proposal for Employment Services for Seniors and their Caregivers with funding from the Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) and guidance from the VSHSL Implementation Plan. This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks services to implement employment training, placement and supports for seniors, who are individuals who are 55 years of age or older and their caregivers. These funds seek a community-based organization to work with seniors and their caregivers to connect them to employment opportunities and support them in succeeding as an employee in order to support them in achieving financial stability.

AVAILABLE FUNDING: Up to $200,000 in Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy funds

This request is open to nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, tribes and tribal organizations agencies serving communities in King County. Small non-profits and community-based organizations are encouraged to apply.

Eligible applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Agency is located in King County.
  2. Have experience to sufficiently screen and assess clients to determine appropriateness for the program.
  3. Demonstrate experience in providing job readiness training and employment services, knowledge of community resources and benefits pertinent to needs of seniors and their caregivers, working effectively with employers to open opportunities for historically underserved populations, particularly individuals 55 and older.
  4. Delivering services in culturally competent means and aligning with County’s equity and social justice initiative.
  5. Have the capacity to manage public funds and meet reporting requirements.
  6. Have the capacity to collect and manage client data, including those related to program outcomes.
