The Covid-19 pandemic has been exceptionally harsh on tenants and their landlords. In response to this crisis, the City of Glendale has allocated $782,053 of financial assistance to help landlords protect their property, while ensuring tenants get to remain in their homes.
The Federal eviction moratorium is set to expire December 31, 2020, and many Glendale tenants will be at risk of losing their homes. Between November 1 and November 15, 2020, the City will accept applications from property owners whose tenants have struggled to pay rent during this pandemic.
Applications will be processed through a lottery system and will be prioritized by preference points. Preference points will be given to individual/sole proprietor owners and to those who own 4 or fewer units.
Funds will begin being distributed in December to approved applicants. Due to the anticipated need, the City cannot guarantee assistance to all applicants.
