Thank you for your interest in the City of Beaverton’s social services funding grant program. Beaverton’s proposed 2021-22 budget contains state revenue sharing funds to enable social service providers to meet the needs of Beaverton residents through locally relevant social services. The estimated budget for the upcoming grant cycle is approximately $276,000. This figure will not be final until the city council has adopted the 2021-2022 budget.

Beaverton’s social services funding grant program defines social services as projects that address community needs and target the root causes of poverty. The city council has advised the committee to direct funding to organizations that meet one of the following city priorities:

  • Homelessness/Housing (shelters, rental assistance, tenant education/ advocacy, senior housing, & workforce training) 
  • Affordable afterschool & educational programming (childcare, academic support, English language learner education)
  • Health (school-based health clinics, affordable access to medical/dental care, mental health, hunger/food/nutrition).

Applicants may be invited to make a five-minute presentation to the social services funding committee followed by a ten-minute question and answer session. Committee members will rank applications and make a funding recommendation to Beaverton City Council. Organizations recieving grants will be announced in the first week of June, after council approval.

  • Applicants must be a non-profit organization that addresses one of the identified city priorities for fiscal year 2021-22.
  • Only one grant application per year will be considered for any one organization.
  • An organization will only be considered if all previously awarded grants complied with grant procedures, including timely filing of progress reports.
  • Grants must be used for services provided directly to Beaverton residents.
  • Proposed grant funding will not be used for capital projects.
  • Applicants are not recieving City of Beaverton CDBG funding for the 2021-22 fiscal year.
  • Applications are requesting no more than $20,000.
