Serve DC – The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships announces the availability of AmeriCorps State Formula Grant funding for the Fiscal Year 2021 – 2022 to eligible organizations subject to the availability of appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2021. New applicants will compete
with other State programs for Formula funds made available to Serve DC. Grant award amounts vary – both in the level of operating funds and in the type and amount of AmeriCorps member positions – as determined by the scope of the projects. 

The total amount of an applicant’s grant request must not exceed $16,300 per Member Service Year. For Professional Corps, the applicant's grant request must not exceed $1,000 per Member Service Year. For Education Award Only Programs, grant requests must not exceed $800 per Member Service Year.

AmeriCorps is a national service network that provides full- and less than full-time opportunities for participants, called members, to serve their communities and build the capacity of nonprofit organizations to meet local environmental, educational, public safety, homeland security, or other human needs. Within these issue areas, programs may submit proposals that address specific problems of local communities.

Serve DC asks new and re-competing applicants to submit a Logic Model prior to application submission. Logic Models will be reviewed by the Serve DC Commission. Following the Serve DC initial review of Logic Models, a decision will be made to invite applicants to submit a full application. Please limit your Logic Model to 3 pages and, email it to americorps@dc.gov by April 7, 2021, at 5 pm, EST.

Please note: Continuation applicants do not need to submit a Logic Model.

Serve DC – The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships announces the availability of AmeriCorps State Formula Competitive Grant funding for the Fiscal Year 2021 to eligible organizations. Subject to the availability of appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2021 (FY2021) by AmeriCorps, new, re-competing, and continuing applicants with high-quality proposals will compete with other State programs for Formula funds made available through Serve DC.

Grant award amounts vary – both in the level of operating funds and in the type and amount of AmeriCorps member positions – as determined by the scope of the projects.

AmeriCorps Operating Grants: Serve DC may award a Cost Reimbursement or a Fixed Amount grant to any successful applicant, but the availability of a Full-Cost Fixed Amount grant is limited to certain applicants. Professional Corps are not eligible to apply for Cost Reimbursement grants.

To Submit an Application: 

1) All new and re-compete applicants must first email a Logic Model to americorps@dc.gov. On Friday, April 23, 2021, successful applicants will be notified if they will be invited to submit a full application. 

2) Applicants will then complete a full application (including budget, budget narrative, and logic model) through eGrants. 

3) After applicants complete their eGrants application, they will need to download their Full Application, Budget, Budget Narrative, and Logic Models and upload them to ZoomGrants for Serve DC's review by May 7, 2021 at 5:00 PM. 

4) Serve DC anticipates announcing grant awards at the end of June 2021.

Note: Continution Applicants may skip step 1 and may immediately complete their application through eGrants and upload this application to ZoomGrants. 

The Logic Model may not exceed three pages when printed with the application from the “Review” tab in AmeriCorps web-based management system.

To be considered a complete application, Logic Models, Budgets, Budget Narratives, and Full Applications must be submitted through ZoomGrants and AmeriCorps web-based management system, eGrants.

Applicants who submit a full proposal will undergo peer and staff review. Following this review, Serve DC will recommend programs to AmeriCorps for consideration for Formula funding. Serve DC reserves the right to reject applicants at any stage of the application process from Formula grant funding consideration.
