Covid-19 Coordinated Relief Effort: A Resilient Columbia Economic Stabilization Plan was established by Columbia City Council in March 2020 to provide local relief, recovery and rebuilding in response to impacts of COVID-19. In an effort to maximize efforts, the City will participate in the Midlands Community Response Coalition and we will help continue the work of serving those impacted by disasters that hit our community.
Coalition Identified Partners*:

- United Way of the Midlands
- Central Carolina Community Foundation

The coalition will work together to:
- develop a uniform online grant application
- communicate our objectives, funding requests and grant making efforts with local and regional governments and businesses
- engage local and regional governments in the coalition
- eliminate grant duplication and increase grant impact
The coalition will focus on vulnerable populations including, but not limited to:
- Seniors
- Disabled individuals
- Hourly/seasonal workers (including service and hospitality workers)
- Individuals/families with limited English proficiency
- Homeless (families and parents with children present an urgent need)
The coalitions’ initial funding will be directed to immediate needs:
