OVERVIEW:
The King County Department of Community and Health Services (DCHS) Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) is pleased to release this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Crisis Training Academy with funding from the Crisis Care Centers Levy (CCC-L).
The Crisis Training Academy is designed to provide a centralized crisis training resource for Crisis Care Centers, Post-Crisis Follow-Up (PCFU) teams, and other behavioral health professionals in King County. The training focuses on the roles, responsibilities, and coordination of services across the Crisis Care Continuum: Someone to Contact, Someone to Respond, Somewhere Safe to Go, and Someone to Follow Up (Figure 1). The Crisis Training Academy will also provide foundational knowledge and best practices in crisis care for clinical staff in outpatient behavioral health settings who frequently encounter individuals in crisis and need to understand how to effectively coordinate with crisis services. In addition to supporting the Crisis Care Centers and PCFU workforces, the Crisis Training Academy also serves as a pathway into crisis services for individuals and teams interested in joining or better coordinating with the crisis response system.
DCHS seeks a Behavioral Health Agency (BHA), Community Based Organization (CBO), and/or other training organizations to develop and operate a crisis training program with the goal to serve the three primary training audiences listed in this RFP, prioritizing Crisis Care Centers and PCFU teams.
Through this RFP, DCHS intends to contract with one organization to deliver behavioral health crisis training programs, with the option for that organization to partner with additional entities through subcontracts.
