DEADLINE: Friday, April 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM. No late applications will be accepted.
The Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) program offers this competitive grant opportunity to nonprofit organizations that provide Salt Lake County with arts, cultural, and historical experiences.
FUNDING PURPOSE
Tier II funding should be used to build organizational capacity and enhance the County's cultural offerings to the community. The program also encourages county municipalities, metro townships, and unincorporated community councils to increase their funding of their respective local arts councils and cultural organizations within their communities.
FUNDING PRIORITIES
Tier II funds should not be your only source of funding. The board expects that organizations will also apply for funding or grants from other agencies or sources (i.e. Utah Division of Arts & Museums, foundations, corporations, businesses, individuals, etc). While a one-to-one match is not required, competitive applications are able to show matched funding. Priority consideration will be given to organizations that...
- have matching cash funds;
- have a strong connection to the community;
- are committed to working with underserved communities;
- have a substantial track record;
- and can implement the described project(s) and/or operation(s).
Competitive Process: ZAP funding is competitive and being funded in previous years does not guarantee future funding. Generally not all applications will receive funding. To read the Scoring Criteria used by the Advisory Board, please see the "2022 Tier II Scoring Criteria" document in the Resources Tab.
FUNDING TIMELINE
Applications will be reviewed May-August. Funding recommendations will be submitted to the Salt Lake County Council in August/September. Applicants will be notified of board recommendations in August/September. 2022 cycle funding will be disbursed in January and May 2023.
NEW APPLICANTS
We strongly suggest first-time ZAP applicants contact ZAP staff to discuss eligibility and what to expect from the funding cycle.
ORGANIZATIONS FUNDED IN 2020
If your organization was funded in Tier II in 2020, you must also submit your 2020 evaluation in ZoomGrants by April 29, 2022 in order to be considered for funding.
