This application is to request funding from the City of Charlottesville Vibrant Community Fund, Charlottesville and Albemarle County Intergovernmental (Contractual) organizations, and new and emerging programs intended to address a critical community need.  If you have questions about the type of application your organization should submit, contact Hunter Smith at smithha@charlottesville.gov . Organizations may submit applications for multiple programs. To do so, click on Open Programs above, and then click apply again. Do NOT complete pre-application for second or subsequent programs. Be sure to "SHOW" instructions whenever available.

Disclaimer/Disclosure:  The City of Charlottesville reserves the right to award funds from a different funding source other than what an applicant may have selected on the application.  In th event of unallocated funds, the City, at its descretion, may award additional funding to an applicant whose project meets an immediate need, priority, and goal of the City.

1. Applicants must have a 501c3, similar designation from the IRS or have a verified fiscal agent.

2. Applicants must be register with the State Corporation Commission and the Va. Department of Agriculture, Division of Consumer Affairs,Charitable Solicitation Section.

3. Please pay close attention to the financial audit questions as the requirements have been updated for FY26.

4. There is a $200,000 maximum request limit for FY26 which applies to full organizations applying for Vibrant Community Funds.  This cap does not apply to Intergovernmental or Fundamental organizations for FY26.

5. The City of Charlottesville may contact applicants for inquiries for surveys, to share other funding opportunities or for other matters related to matters related to community matters.
